In a thrilling duel under the desert lights, the Las Vegas Raiders finally stopped their 10-game losing spiral with a nail-biting 19-14 takedown of the Jacksonville Jaguars. It seems losing if you really miss it to try harder—just ask the Raiders. Aidan O'Connell channeled his inner locksmith, managing tight situations without a scoring gala. Kicker Daniel Carlson surely kicked it better than my New Year's resolutions last year, with a 49-yarder that acted almost as a magic spell holding the Jaguars at bay. Meanwhile over on the Jags' bench, Mac Jones doused himself with passing yards—256 to be exact—but points must have not made it on his invite list this time around! Kudos to Travis Etienne and Tank Bigsby for making life difficult for the Raiders' defense but they just couldn’t peel away—the end zone never gifted them a gift card. Although both teams took turns being a mark of grey frustration, the Raiders sewed up some promising knits for their defense's performance quilt. Now, every NFL radio is inserting and reiterating 'Las Vegas Raiders end of year revisit with defense dialed higher than Chelsea boots!'
